Wage and Hour Forum: Pay for Quasi Work

June 17, 2008 at 9am PDT/11am CDT/12pm EDT

Are employees entitled to compensation when they are not working? Sometimes, they are. The rules for paying employees for "quasi work" are complicated. And common sense does not always apply. Quasi work has been the subject of recent wage and hour class actions, so mistakes in this area can be costly.

Our one hour, complimentary teleconference will address situations of "quasi work," where an employee may be entitled to compensation when not working. We will discuss the following topics:

  • Orientation

  • Training

  • Travel

  • Sleeping

  • Reporting time

  • On-call time

Paul Hastings speakers will include:Allan Bloom, Jeffrey Grube, Patrick Shea and Maureen Bogue.

There will be time for Q&As following the teleconference.

CLE QualificationsPaul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker is a State Bar of California, a State Bar of New York, a State Bar of Georgia and State of Illinois approved CLE provider and certifies that this activity is eligible for 1.0 hour of General credit in California, Georgia and Illinois and 1.0 hour of Practice credit in New York.
