China Matters: China Immigration Update: Change in Registration Requirements for Foreigners on Business Visas or Residing in Shanghai on Residence Permits

The Exit-Entry Department of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau recently issued a new policy with respect to temporary residence registration forms for foreigners. According to the new policy, when a foreigner applies for, amends, or renews his / her visa and / or residence permit, the foreigner should submit a new version of the temporary residence registration form. The local police station which has had jurisdiction over the foreigner's area of residence, whether it be a private residence or hotel/service apartment, will issue the new form.
