With Summer coming ever closer, vacations are dead ahead. Vacation time means rest, relaxation, and fun. Many will agree that you usually stray from your diet when on vacation. The ease of your kitchen and favorite gym are not easily accessible when away from home. These quick tips will help you stay on track with your health goals. The last thing you want is to gain back what you’ve already worked off.
Choose activities that involve exercise! Make sure you pack your tennis shoes with you. Experience something new and incorporate walking to the attraction so you keep your body moving.
Do your research! Everyone loves to go out when on vacation, make sure to research the restaurants in the area and take a look at menus ahead of time so that you have an idea of what healthy options are available to you.
Food Prep- If you’re staying for a longer vacation, you may consider packing easy-to-prepare food or purchasing it when you arrive at your destination. Eating out can mean unwanted calories. Preparing quick snacks and meals will help you to stay on track as well as save you money.
Watch what you drink! You’re on vacation and you’re having fun, you’re probably going to indulge in an adult beverage, but beware! Drinks such as a Piña Colada are high in calories and sugar. Consider a spritzer instead which is still refreshing, just lower in sugar.
