Update on H-1B Master's Cap
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that, as of April 18, approximately 18,000 H-1B visa petitions had been received under the "master's cap" of 20,000 for persons holding advanced degrees from U.S. institutions of higher education. In the few days since that count was made, however, it is entirely possible that the cap has already been reached and that no more new H-1B visas are available under the "master's cap."
