SEC Issues Soft Dollar Guidance

On October 19, 2005, the SEC issued its long awaited interpretive guidance on soft dollars. This guidance, which was issued in the form of a “proposed” interpretative release, was developed after substantial industry input and following the adoption of new standards in the United Kingdom by the Financial Services Authority.
