Paul Hastings Represents Equinox in Acquisition of Four Fitness Locations of The Sports Club/LA

October 20, 2011

New York, NY

(October 20, 2011) - Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm represented Equinox, a sports and fitness club, in the closing on its previously announced acquisition of the assets of The Sports Club Company and four of The Sports Club/LA properties located in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Orange County and New York's Rockefeller Center. The Sports Club/LA clubs in Boston, Miami, San Francisco, New York on the Upper East Side and Washington D.C., as well as Reebok Sports Club/NY are not affected by this acquisition and continue to be owned and operated by Millennium Partners Sports Club Management as they have since 2006. With the addition of these four The Sports Club/LA properties, Equinox will operate 55 clubs in the top eight US markets.

Paul Hastings also represented Equinox in connection with obtaining the debt and equity financing for the acquisition.

The deal follows its acquisition of SoulCycle in May, in which Paul Hastings also represented Equinox.

Corporate practice partner Tom Kruger led the Paul Hastings team, which also included Patrick Ramsey, David Viklund, Michael Wong and Jeff Pellegrino. Sports Club/ LA was represented by a team led by Greenberg Glusker's Ron Fujikawa.
