Paul Hastings Further Enhances Global Private Equity Platform With New York Partner

October 20, 2025

Paul Hastings LLP has further strengthened its premier global private equity platform with the addition of partner Anthony Cahill in New York. Cahill joins from leading growth equity investor TCV, where he was vice president and associate general counsel, and previously practiced at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

“Anthony joins the firm as we continue to strategically gain market share and enhance our ability to serve asset managers broadly across traditional buyout, growth equity and hybrid capital,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “His vast dealmaking experience, particularly in the technology sector, will help us continue to build and enhance our private equity platform.”

At Paul Hastings, Cahill will advise private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and other investors on all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including acquisitions, portfolio management, growth investments and exits, as well as on a variety of strategic and operational matters. He has significant experience across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on the technology sector.

Cahill is the fourth private equity partner to join Paul Hastings in the last four months, as the firm continues to build its leading private equity platform into a destination for top-of-the-market PE talent. Other recent additions include Jim Curley, who joined last month from Goodwin Procter in Boston, partners Christopher Zochowski and Bradley Noojin, who arrived in June from A&O Shearman in New York, and, also in New York, M&A and PE partner Kristiina Leskinen, who joined from Paul, Weiss in July.

Paul Hastings also added top-tier antitrust partners Josh Soven from Paul, Weiss and Sally Evans from Kirkland & Ellis in July and September, respectively, to further support the firm’s growing PE and M&A demand.

“Having been embedded with TCV’s investment teams, I gained a unique, client-side insight that enables me to anticipate needs and align legal strategy with business goals,” said Cahill. “I look forward to applying this strategic perspective at Paul Hastings to drive the expansion of our growth equity capabilities and better serve clients from the firm’s exceptional global platform.”

Over the past several years, the firm has added more than 25 private equity and M&A partners. This strategic growth has propelled the firm’s Chambers-ranked PE practice into the top 10 for U.S. exits ranked by value in Mergermarket’s H1 2025 league tables, and into the top 10 by deal count in Bloomberg’s 2024 global private equity league tables.

The private equity practice and the firm more broadly continue to gain market share with a wide range of work for leading asset managers, including Apollo, Ares, Atlas, Blackstone, Brookfield, Carlyle, Charlesbank Capital Partners, EQT, Fortress, Francisco Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Great Hill, H.I.G., KKR, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, Sixth Street Partners, Symphony Technology Group and TPG.
